BUILDING MENTAL RESILIENCE IN THE WORKPLACE: be kind to yourself

In this course, Jan Hendrik and Gabi Lowe (founder of The Resilience Factory and author of Get Me to 21), take you on a journey to learn more about mental health, especially in the workplace. You will learn about authentic resilience, setting boundaries, managing stress and toxicity in the workplace, and how to develop healthy coping mechanisms to live a more balanced, meaningful life. Gabi joined forces with Pippa Shaper in 2017 to start The Resilience Factory and they have recently launched an international online course on Authentic Resilience which you can access here.

DIVE IN

Welcome to Mental Resilience in the Workplace. This is a place of empathy and understanding – also with yourself. In this introductory session of the course, you’ll get an idea of what to expect of the journey ahead.

NORMALISING THE CONVERSATION

With Jan Hendrik and Gabi as your guides, we will now set off on a journey to learn more about mental health, especially in the workplace, developing authentic resilience, coping with stress in the workplace, and how to develop coping mechanisms to live a happier, healthier life.

GROWING FROM PAIN

In this session, we’ll look at common myths and stereotypes about mental health. We will consider how we may grow by exploring our pain. Lastly, we will discuss what to do when you realise that you might need help.

GETTING TO WORK

This session is about the common pressures and stressors we experience in the workplace. We will talk about the importance of setting boundaries, communicating clearly, and identifying what a toxic workplace is.

BE KIND TO YOURSELF

In this final session of the course, Jan Hendrik speaks about pain he’s experienced and how he moved through it. Both he and Gabi share some of their advice on how to build the life you want to live.
