What is JAN Innovation Academy?
JAN Innovation Academy is an inspired online space for personal and skills development. A digital library carefully curated by South African Michelin-star chef, restaurateur, entrepreneur and multidisciplinary creative, Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen, of the things he would have loved to know when he started his career. Through inspiring video lessons and supporting learning material, he shares his personal tales of trial and triumph in a range of short courses featuring fellow experts in related industries. JAN Innovation Academy combines education, virtual mentorship and entertainment to inspire the next generation of creatives, entrepreneurs, movers and shakers.
What is included in the courses?
Each of the courses offered by JAN Innovation Academy includes:
- inspirational video learning sessions featuring Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen and an industry expert related to the course content;
- an in-depth digital workbook with additional learning material and reflective exercises;
- a JAN Innovation Academy certificate on completion of the course; and
- optional CV submission to the JAN Group.
How does one access the courses?
The virtual learning platform of JAN Innovation Academy can be accessed anytime, anywhere through desktop or mobile devices, by visiting academy.janonline.com. The downloadable app allows offline access to learning materials for iOS and Android devices.
Are the courses accredited?
While each course offered by JAN Innovation Academy is filled with inspirational video learning sessions, a digital workbook with additional learning material and reflective exercises, the courses are not accredited by an academic institution. Our aim is to combine education, virtual mentorship and entertainment to inspire learners through the stories of recognised industry experts.
How much does a course cost?
JAN Innovation Academy courses have a fixed price of R1 250,00 per course. This includes access to the virtual learning platform for six weeks from the date of purchasing the course, inspirational video learning sessions featuring Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen and an industry expert related to the course content; an in-depth digital workbook with additional learning material and reflective exercises; a JAN Innovation Academy certificate on completion of the course; and optional CV submission to the JAN Group.
